While we're in a nostalgic mood, thought I'd mention that I've also just got tix to see Pat Travers at the Islington Academy on Oct 11th...

From back before his drummer Nico McBrain had even head of Iron Maiden

Managed to snaek a log in :) Yes Ivor is correct not renewing the Membership...got a lot on my plate at the moment and no car anyway, so time to have a break.

Hoping to be back in 6 months or Xmas and pay the Half year membership offer.

I'm not usually a fan of cover versions but every once in a while I come across a cover version I prefer.

Here's the original:

Here's the cover by John Corabi (ex The Scream and Motley Crue)

Mate of mine who goes to gigs on a VERY regular basis said this was the loudest band he'd ever heard. He said that he actually though he'd pass out with the volume.

That was around 15-20 years ago and I'm thinking that the days when bands were allowed to crank it up to 'eleven' are long gone now.

For me it was when I went to see Bon Jovi play at Wembley when New Jersey was first released. That god awful ringing in my ears lastest for days.

So who was ultimately responsible for damaging your ears?

Seen the Cult and yes, they were loud but the loudest band I've ever heard without a shadow of a doubt were The Who. Took ages for my ears to recover from that gig.

Loudest band ever, Killing Joke, ears ringing for 2 days after....

and yes, I have seen the Cult.
