Yeah, no one's interested in your old heap are they Clivey?

Taking my time over the winter so ready for the spring.

Too many other jobs have built up over the last couple of years. Trying to get the house cleaned up and painted a bit before xmas. Got a 17 year old lad from around the corner to paint my hallway and doors for me. He needs a bit of dosh to buy a car so I gave him this job to help him out. He is doing a canny job of it actually. I should be able to get the paint out of the carpets.

Plus the Jeep has needed a fair bit of work to get right. Just cured a big oil leak from the rocker cover at the weekend. Oil had been running down the back of the engine. But that rocker cover was a bitch to get off with the back end of it being under the dash area. Fixed the exhaust so it doesn't hit anything as well and got the local quick fit to align the wheels correctly. I have some gas shocks on their way to fit before xmas too.

The Challenger is running and moves which is the main thing.

The main jobs left are:
To finish fitting the front lighting and bodywork.
Assemble, paint and fit the new grille (from a non-R/T car).
To fit the front and rear glass and polish up/fit the stainless trim.
Fill the braking system with fluid and bleed.
Fit the MAP sensor (plus power supply) and wire up the tach to the LM-1 meter.

Then when the car is out and MOTed in the spring I will give it a tune, change the oil and filter and jobs a goodun.

Wicked, I bet you cannot wait. With everything else that has gone on over the past couple of years, its a fantastic effort to get to where you are now. I am sure many others would have thrown the towel in long ago.

I will be making a bee line for it the first show I see it at.

Apart from the local cruise and show it will probably only be at the Nats next year. So hopefully see you then.

I need to try and save some money next year. Or at least pay off a little of the debt.

I am 50 next summer and really want to do something special. But it will cost.
The idea is to drive a V-code Challenger from Illinois to Denver to meet up with a road racing Challenger. Then together follow the route taken in the film Vanishing Point. I would also like to stay overnight in the town of Goldfield where in the film Super Soul had his radio station.

It is something myself and the owners of these two cars have been talking about for a couple of years. It would be a bloody shame if i find I can't afford to do it.

Awesome Would LOVE to do a roadtrip in a real musclecar, esp the VP tour. Hope it works out Dave it will be fantastic

Goldfield looks to be a very "interesting" place. It is half ghost town and looks pretty rough to me. Right up my street.

Thought that was a very good little vid of the exhaust cut outs, Dave. I've often wondered about these (and excuse my naivity on exhaust engineering) but does it have any negative effects having the extra "tunnel" for exhaust gases to follow? I know this could be a really stupid question, but if you don't ask and all that... I know some people get really anal about best flow with an exhaust and back pressures / circulation, so just wondered!?

I think there were pretty hard times in that town when the gold ran out. Something like 30,000 people found life hard enough to up sticks and leave. But during that lean time there would have been a few poor souls literally starving to death and desperate enough to try eating anything.

I do that just with my driving.
