What has a "masturbation" channel got to do with Mopars? NOTHING!!![/quote]
Quite alot
With Mopars you have to be handy with your own hands and the wife gets no satisfaction from it whatsoever

a while back i bought a retro Playboy magazine from ebay dated 1968 as it was the age of the GT40. expencive boys cars and playboy go together.
not many pictures though

and what there was was really tame. quite a few retro adverts for muscle cars.
i don't have a TV so can't tune to channel 99. if it was the truck that was banned (or just the graphics) then fair enough but it seems that the girls are being picked on for no real reason.

Wow I guess they get to say who gets in and who doesnt,
so if I show up with a group of hot birds, I would get banned if they pose like this?

No you would not Drew.... I think it is the content and the nature of the TV channel they object to. One of those channels that sado's and perverts frequent, cos they can't get the real thing. The type of guy that is still with his mum at the age of 40.

Yea that makes sense but Playboy has always had a somewhat decent reputation over the years and they have a race car to pimp (sorry for the pun,I will get me coat) ,so they should be allowed to show up and run, chicks and all

NOBODY'S FORCING ANYONE TO WATCH THE CHANNEL !!
So like I said before, if the British Army or Help for Heroes sponsored something would a pacifist object and get them banned?
The army are trained to kill, that's a bit more serious than a "man stretch" channel.
Over the years fit ladies have been all over the car industry, if Miss Hurst Shifter turned up would the committee turn her away?
Not once last year did one of the girls sit me down and do a lap dance (mores the pity) non of them got their lug jugs out.
What if the makers of Call of Duty sponsored a top fuel team? Does that make it non PC as kids play at killing people online.
Situation is a slap in the face for sponsors. Feel for Phil and Dave they are trying to promote the sport and get more people into it. It must be a good thing surely

Dunno funky light reflection from the other photog, he used a reflective mat.
I dont think this issue will fix it self you all have to be proactive, this kind of stuff happens here too , but the majority usually wins, hope yall scream loud and clear for your simple basic rights

C'mon, are you serious? Is it that I have spent far too much time in the advertising world? And know all the ploys? The girls are not there just to cheer the place up. They are there for the money! If they were not getting paid, do you think they would be there? They have a ton of baggage to sort out back home.
Playboy TV (sex at the end of your arm) are there for self promotion and to make money, that is plain as the nose on your face. If you can't see that, then I take my hats off to them. It is an age old trick. Sex sells products.
Now, I don' know if the Nats committee are against the sex affiliation, or if they did not get any of the proceeds. I would only be guessing.
Pit Popsies, sexy crew, all that kinda stuff, I totally agree is and will always be part of the scene.
Is it me? Am I the only one that sees it that way? Or are you all...........
SUCKERS!!
C'mon Ivor..... You MUST see what is going on here!

I'm not disputing they are looking for business, I sponsor quite a few chefs including the military ones and I do it on the basis that I will get business off the back of it.
Yes, of course Phil is out to sign up people, but every form of sponsorship is there to generate revenue from their brand exposure, BUT THAT'S FINE
What I think sets Phil apart is that he owns a car so is closer to the sport and scene. He could have chosen to put his sponsorship money elsewhere but chose our hobby.
Look at how we are treating him, of course sex sells, but so what. It's all a bit tongue in cheek, so to speak. It didn't descend into a mass orgy at the Nats last year, well certainly not over at the Swindon massive tents, but then we were pretty pi55ed.
I for one would love to do Mopars at the Playboy Mansion, does that make me a sad perv? No, it just means I would like to hang out with some hot girls and some hot cars.
I just don't think it's fair to pick and chose who can come along and who can't because of one or two complaints.

Personally I don't really care if they came or not (Yes I know Ade!

).
What bothers me is that someone feels they are not welcome.
But I do agree that the "Playboy TV" thing was pushed a little too much in peoples faces because of the bus. If the advertising was turned down a little (No massive Bus) then I think it really wouldn't have been a problem?
If I could make a suggestion (and if the right people are reading this) then a compromise could be had.
If they just supplied a few girls for the prize giving and a few other photo opportunities around the pits then that should be enough to get the brand out there and not ruffle anyone's feathers. After all we normally have glamour girls for the handing out of the prizes.

Listen, if you want a company there that has a partner with dubious accounts, that can be viewed on line, and a company that has recently been fined 110,000 pounds for offensive advertising, then that is your choice.
Why not open the gate to the Albanian Mafia as well, they have lots of pretty girls too.
I am glad to say, it would not happen here. Hats off to the Nats team. With a little research, I have found out, and understand their motives.
Sexy girls at the car shows, yeah bring it on.... Seedy advertising, No thanks.
Anyway, not for me to say, I won't be there.

Dave, you know I respect you for backing the little guy...... And for everyone to have a right.... But look into these guys. I am sure you would not invite them to a event you were organizing.
