I had a great time last year.
Although I was disappointed no camping left pit side due to field closure.
Ended up in the family area with many others.
Had I been there with a young family , I wouldn't have been happy.

We weren't the quietist of people. And as for the snoring ..........., :D
It's all about Smiles per gallon !!!

We want to go to the Nats, this will be our first year. What is the layout? Is there a map online? We have been to the VW events at the Pod, we were there last weekend for Big Bang, at that camping is in the fields either side of the road up to where the arena for the monster truck, music tent then fair ground. The camping carries on on the left side of the road right up to where the bar area is. The trade area, static car show and pits on the other side of the track.

Luckily, I don't live that far away and I drove to the Nats on a daily basis rather than camped, but did miss the old camping shenanigans...I wonder what the Cornish crew will do? The top field is like their second home at Nats time! ;)
The pump don’t work coz the vandals took the handles.

layout is layout santa pod change nothing in respect to the positining of the permanent and semi permanent buildings and areas between bug jam and NATS as far as i can tell.

fences may well be moved

VW event

camping on the fairground/ hill side of the track with only performers racers and selected guests in the pits and the bottom feild near the bar
allthough access to the top filed at the back of the pits where the big top is used to be availble (i am talking ten years ago) but i was allways so late i know not how to get there.

if it was full they'd pay local formaer to roller a feild of oil-seed and start stcking people in there

Mopar Nats

1/3-1/5 the size of bug jam.

when you arrive you will think you have the wrong weekend until you get down to the monster truck area

most all camp in or around the pits/ bottom field with those who want a nights sleep on the top field, top of pits by big top tent (which is going to be closed this year)

the rest of the fairgoround side (by the dodgems and the bmx ramps) fills up with day trippers and late arrivals as the weekend goes on

but the two feilds either side of the road from the entrance never have anyone in i.e where you would be if you arrived at bug jam anytime after lunch on the friday.

mopar nats is a bit more sedate on the LiFe-StYle event front.
nobody playing doof doof music while pulling a burnout 2 inches from where you are resting you head.
people don't tend to wear multi coloured afros for no apparent reason
no car will have an ON A MISSON sticker
Fido D1ldo is banned
and you can't smell the combustion of specially dried herbs from Olney
No RAD shorts apart from derek's and Ades

Thanks Dave. We've not done Bug Jam for about 8 years now as its 98% idiots. We still like Big Bang and VW Action as they are more sedate. Having a two year old with us it's no fun having a group of "I'm mad me"'s camped nearby.

yes regardless where you camp

mopar nats is cars racing and a good laugh with ya mates, and you can find a safe place for the kinds to wander at will camp up againts the fence in one of the bottom fields. close enough for water loo and beer far enough to void big street lamps on all night and noise

it just kinda works out fine every year. in the scheme of things their aint much wrong :)

Sounds good. When you refer to bottom fields, is that the one opposite the fair and the one behind the food area?

What carb is it?

If its a Holly and you are going to North Weald next week we could take a look for you.
