I did similar but with a Policeman in the co-pilot's seat.

He advised me that the official charge would be "Wanton and Furious Driving".

I am not sure if that is good or bad....

It was certainly a bugger when the same car went from 1st to Reverse using the Slap stick.... :pale: :pale: :pale: :help:

that was the Keith Seume (sp?) car, right? His article on that made a big impression on me as a kid, I remember when he described taking it for a test drive with the owner - he accelerated and was not too impressed, then the owner told him to press the accelerator harder, he did, opened the secondaries, and described the Armageddon that followed!!!
Hello Gavin,, if you mean this yellow challenger ??? then no its a Hemi car hot car magazine brought it over and ran it in a bit of drag racing and the street i think in the end richard warden restored it to plum crazy its now back in the states i believe, it also left a big impression on me,,

Duncan, if you mean "Richard Ward" then I drove the car when it had the Hemi in it - 4 speed, manual everything, a true muscle car.

Yes, it went "Plumb Crazy".

Richard Ward did end up with that car before it went back to the States. Stuart Valance restored it back in the day, probably one of the first broadcast sheet type Restorations over here. That car spent a lot of time in the RPM workshop over the years and Passed through at least three owners. I rebuilt the engine when it belonged to Ian Giles who I still deal with today. Interestingly the original numbers matching engine for that car is still in the UK and now resides in a certain red 70 Cuda convertible. Prior to that it was fitted to a 32 Ford hot rod. It’s amazing how many Hemi engines got separated from their original cars only to surface years later.

Yes, I'm sure it's the same car. Keith Seume worked for Hot Car magazine and he featured the car then subsequently ran a column entitled 'Hemi Corner' where he (borrowed!) and raced the car occasionally. I will try and find the original article at some stage and post it....

You're right Duncan. It was red when one of the Mullan brothers had it ( I think it was Colin) and was still red when owned by Ashley Troop. This was before Stu Vallance had the car.

Great picture, I saw the car parked up outside a pub in Frimley, Surrey in the early eighties with a for a sale sign in the window. From memory they wanted around £5,500 for it which was well beyond my pocket at the time (I had just paid £1200.00 for my 68 Charger, 3 VVO) but even so it showed how much of a premium was put on a Hemi car.
