At what rpm did it let go????

Feeling for you buddy, I know the amount of work that went into it, let alone the cost.

You will have to stuff quite a few cushions to fund the rebuild.............
It was only at 6000rpm.

I'm back here stuffing already :thumbright:

Damn! 6K is still high enough to do a lot of damage - there is a lot of energy and it takes quite a time to come to a halt, lots of cycles and opportunity to do more damage.....Really sorry to hear this news......

Had a look yesterday and it looks like something has blocked an oilway in the crank. No 6 rod then let go smashed the bores then allowing the rest of it to hydraulic, that is our best guess so far.

I think there maybe 2 valves that are not bent!! But they should be saveable, not had chance to check them over properly yet.

Jeez, sorry to see that......I would be interested to know if the girdle survived. I guess a re-sleeve won't get you out of jail... :( I imagine you won't trust that block...............

The girdle is fine, it seems it was no6 that let go and no 3 was about to follow. There is not much left of no5 bore, most of it was in the sump.
