Has anyone ever seen an inlet gasket used on an Edelbrock Performer Dual Plane inlet that sticks out proud of the inlet either side and that is visible rather than fitting precisely to the outside edge contour of the inlet, if you know what I mean..??

many manufacturers make many gaskets, i've go holley base plate gaskets that fit perfectly, and others that overhang the manifold flange by 1/2" or more, it realy doesnt matter so long as the surfaces are air/oil/water tight once you've sealed them, and obviously that no oil/waterways are blocked by the gasket, you could always trim them !

Gavin, I think its out with the craft knife mate!
I use felpro which provides an excellent seal(when torqued properly!) but, does provide an element of overlap.

Cheers guys. Just wanted to check that this was or could be normal as I have not seen it before.

I'm just a fussy sod really!

Thanks.
