I love 'em. I know the Daytona's are rarer, but the Superbird is much more graceful to the eye, IMHO. First one I saw was Ahmet's yellow Bird (PPV 405R) on the King's Rd in about 1977. I couldn't believe that a factory had built such an outrageous car.
'Course the only reason they exist was to homologate them for NASCAR, and I'm a huge NASCAR fan. I was lucky enough to attend the 30th Winged Warriors Reunion at Talladega in 1999. It was an awesome sight to see a couple hundred Aero cars lined up on the front stretch. My favourite was the Ramo Stott car.
Glad to see John is finally restoring his car

As promised

The limelite colour only shows yellow in the photo, but trust me it was green.

Fantastic

Keep up Rob, They are called "Winged Warriors"

I think "worriors" might be more appropriate - they certainly worried NASCAR enough to hobble them with a 305ci limit
How 'bout some more from Talladega in 1999? All of the NASCAR lettered cars are replicas, unlike the Ramo Stott car, which is a survivor.

Looks like they were painted before they had the rear window plug fitted - I always assumed they were delivered to Creative Industries in primer. You learn something every day.

Adam, you seem a little confused. ALL Superbirds were built by Chrysler at the Clairpoint Assembly Plant. They used some components from Creative Idustries but actual cars or bodies never went to Creative unlike the Daytonas. The Clairpoint theme can be carried through with a Superbird Fender Tag, there is a J number, which is Chrycos code for Special Order, build Clairpont. This number is unique to the Bird in question. Its the MOST Important part of any Superbird, regardless.

the car was painted after the plug went in theres no paint under the plug
the car is going blue not looking bad for a car that has sat for 28yrs
