A couple of MoPars that were there. I think the green RR may have been Alex's.

Are they both still about ?

Fantastic pix Sandy, it's almost inconceivable to think that Avon Park/Shakey used to operate completely back to front to today's layout.

Let's hope the proposed new Long Marston housing estate doesn't threaten the track's future...
The pump don’t work coz the vandals took the handles.

Could be worse, could be the Long Lartin Housing (open prison) estate.

I love those old pics. Can't explain why, there is just a lack of complexity about them. :thumbright:

Which is strange because everyone who came over to look at those cars just stood there and shook their heads ....

I can remember leaving Glasgow at 1900 in the Saturday evening, driving over to Edinburgh for the cruise night, staying in Princes Street till 0100 or so, then driving down to Avon Park to get there for gates open (stopping at the services for a quick nap) at 0900 on the Sunday, racing all day, the driving the 340 odd miles back to Glasgow. Round trip, about 800 miles.

Used to think nothing of it.

Comfortable car, cruise control, 30-35 mpg, fast, quiet, good stereo .... em, remind me why I sold it ???? :?

I don't think so. Sarah Bradley has (or at least had) James McFadzen's Road Runner from up here; Falkirk way, I think.

She has had that for a while.
