my 67 gtx is still on amarican plates and and my insurance company will only insure me as static sitting in the garage, i rang them to cover me to go for mot but they said that they would only give me 1 weeks cover to get it mot,d, but they will not insure me fully comp until on uk plates, however they will not cover me again to go local dvla office to get it registered......

does any 1 know of any insurance company thats more helpful ??

i have amarican logbook etc for car so can i just send off paper work to dvla along with new mot or do they want to see car ....?

Dave, the DVLA are unlikely to want to see your car, but it's always best to go to the DVLA office with all your paperwork, including the US title, the import duty receipt etc and they'll

My insurance company insured me on the VIN number, but my MOT guy made up a set of temporary plates in order to pass the car!

I use RH specialist insurance in Essex and they are very helpful.
