Hi
I've not posted on here for a few years now, i may be putting my car up for sale on Ebay due to financial issues. i will give a description of the car and can you please advise me what i should be asking for the car. if its to low, then i will hold onto and look elsewhere for funds.
Good points
bodywork polishes up well, Hand made dual exhaust (sounds awesome), fitted reconditioned power steering pump purchased from Aus, solid boot/floors/engine compartment.
Negatives
Engine (318) has water leak, i believe its coming from one of the core plugs back of the engine.
Drivers seat bolster needs reupholstering.
needs new carpet.
Paintwork has few bubbles here and there but nothing major.
I've had the car for many years now and spent approximately 2.5k on it and it pains me to even consider selling. last on the road June/July 2011 so no MOT and TAX. pics were taken a few years ago.
i will really appreciate your advice on this.
Regards
Razi

Sorry to hear of your situation.
it may be better to hang onto it a bit longer and get it to the summer shows, it may generate more interest.
Mind you, I bet that Billing field will be full of cars with "4 Sale" stickers the rate the economy is going..............

Nice looking car,the good news is good classics still seem to be selling so i think you will do OK with it.
Will help if you can fix the core plug of course, and tax(free) and MOT.You would get your money spent back and save all the silly offers because its off the road, and if you end up not selling you can use her.
Tempted to tell you a low price so you keep her.
Dave999 here i feel is the Best one to ask and Matt H as you know they both own one.
Going of others that have sold i would say 8 to 12k if you MOT her. but I'm not qualified to say best wait for Dave's input,he keeps an eye on ones for sale.

Lovely looking Charger Razi, I think that even in the current depressed market, you won't have a problem selling that and when it comes to true value Dave's your man!

Obviously the UK market is lower than Oz, but make sure you check out Ebay.com.au there are Vals going for silly money. Worth the hassle of exporting????

Raz,
get the little issues fixed at least. A running MOT'd car is always worth more than one that needs work, even if minor work.
Also you get to use it whilst trying to sell, and you might changed your mind once you drive it again.

Thanks Guys for giving me the time. Dave your email was very helpful thank you, its given me an idea of value and possibilities. Just to let you know though, i advertised it on Rods N Sods for 5k and got a few guys interested in it but i cannot get myself to commit to selling it and have now decided not to sell. when i brought the car i said it was a keeper, something to pass on my son when he grows up. I'm going to work hard on trying to find alternative way to make the money i need without selling and to be honest, the car in my eyes is unique, and i know i would regret selling. I've also got a PPI claim going out tomorrow and hopefully will get me out of the sh*t.
Sorry to waste your time.
Regards

no probs
its a good car to keep
finding another is the problem with these
right-ho
carpets
the repro ones from aus are not great
woolies trim do rolls of the stuff....use old for template and use hair dryer to form it so it lies flat
stick normal underfelt the rubberised stuff under or spray the floor with halfords rubberised paint to deaden the sound abit
core plug
which one
some can be got out and new put in with hammer/mallet engine in situe
some need dudicious use of the scissor jack and a block of wood wedged between inner wing and engine
some need engine out
bubbles how bad and where
safer to grrind it back find a welder to pop on some pacthes prime it and get some top coat on rough
than leve it to fester
patche sizes grow exponetially
the hole is usually 3-4 times the size of the bubbly bit by the time anyone ever gets round to doing anything
catch em early and its pin holes only
once the money troubles over split it into father and son jobs and i need help jobs and there will be somone who can help or help for the right price there allways is.
