The Australians had their own 6 cylinder. Known as the "Hemi Six".
So when they talk about a Hemi Chrysler over there they are normally talking about a 6 cylinder.

Basic standard 265 inline six orginally 2 barrel now with webers
these have given me a much more drivable street car with a great sound gobs more torque and it now runs much much cooler
nout much else but i'm still running the shopping cam and a press bent header bodged into a 2 inch exhaust system
come as standard with 1.96 inch inlet valves 1.6? exhaust and 1.7:1 ratio rockers.....
spent ages at the line spinning 1 wheel which i think you can hear
couldn't hear what was going on cos of that truck
think i did about 17.4
best for weekend was 16.6
i.e 2- 3 tenths slower than last year
with the E49 race motor and a decent driver 3.5:1 rear end and no worries about busting it these do a 14 second 1/4 off the dealer forcourt on crossplies the cars weighed about the same as a modern mini i.e 1280KG - 1350KG
modern tyres an a devil may care attitude to gearbox bustage gets you into a 13 second 1/4 properly
my escapades at the weekend showed up that my car needs work to rear end the spring eye bushes are shot
needs a sure grip
needs a new clutch
bigger wheels and better tyres
need to dump the 2.92:1 rear gears and fit a modern 3.45:1 or 3.89:1 set out of an aussie commodore, morgan or Camaro IROC Z as most 3.23 3.5 and 3.9 chrylser and ford sets are old style small bolt ring gears and kinda worn as none made since 1970s
a bigger set of balls and the confidnce of a spare gearbox (hopefully coming soon) wil also help
front end was completely out of alignment by the end of the weekend as well....tsk
derek
I'd forgotten about the camera until Mr Pearson jnr chased me down to ask for it back.....a small fight ensued and he nicked off with his camra and my wallet on the smallest bike you've ever seen
so i put out his spokes

For those interested, camera is GoPro hero2 motorsports edition as used by Ken Block in his drifting antics. WiFi and full remote control meant Dave had no buttons to press.

got a steel hub and the latest elastomeric technology.... it allows me to really build HP like...well......most things on summits website
no way will it leave my head and fire through the roof no matter how hard i rev it.....although i wouldn't trust its timing marks after an over rev it might have slipped
mind it is press fit..so i might be on dodgey ground if i entered a properly sanctioned event...... depends on if i can distrct the scrutineer by showing him my sump when he wasn't expecting it
