I had a gearstick come out in my hand once , that was a iffy moment on the motor way , as it was at the point on changing down & braking was in 4th gear about to change down , for the Dartford toll coming across the bridge from the Essex side , got an Idea it was so long ago , was before the 50 mph speed limit 88 or 89 may be just after it opened I thnnk

Gear stick coming out in your hand happened a lot with the old Fords, the plastic thread would strip and out it come.

Luckily funny cars and dragsters have so much camber, they pretty much just want to go in a straight line anyway.

yeah old fords , there was something about them gear sticks un screwing them selves when worn , this was my MK4 v6 Cortina gearstick , was just coming back from a RWYB at notrhweald . screwed it back in as best as I could , this one wernt plastic though ! threads were ally on the bottom of the stick with lock tabs you bent to stop it turning , went to fords next day , for a new one , had the hump a bit only had black instock , the , original one I had was chrome . blew the motor up again , short while later , so decided to fit a spare capri 2.8i motor & five speed box I had laying about . ok enough of my rambling waffling

Bit of a bananarama moment there.
Like the way he just casually drops it to the side at the end
My Capri gearstick had a habit of coming out...cured it by rolling the dam thing, never had to fix it again
