Took a tour of the Air Museum in Sola, Norway this afternoon. This place is a 5 minute drive from my house here and I pass it every day when I work here, first time around it. Even my daughter enjoyed it. :D

Great pics, reminds me of the old aircraft museum that was near southend airport, anyone remember it? They also used to hold a custom car show there, first time I saw John Dodds beast also minus the grill. Tim cook of americar racing also had his porsche lookalike kit car there one year.

Ive been watching a bit of that Series Sabatours, which kinda prompted me to visit. Its amazing the aviation connection thats existed between Scotland and Norway stretching all the way back to 1914.

Yes remember it well, being able to climb inside the Blackburn Beverley. They also had a Heinkel HE 111 there. I've still got the guidebook for the museum somewhere.

Thanks for posting the pictures. Your second picture was interesting - I couldn't identify it until the later picture of it's nose section. It's a Heinkel 115 floatplane (the tail wheel obviously confused me).

You can read about it's recovery here (other articles are undoubtedly avalable):-

Hey Faux, yeh and thats just round the corner from where I live. There's loads of old Nazi stuff round here and its been fun investigating. Directly out my window is an old Radar Tower base. A workmate found a huge cashe of weapons in a cave when he was a boy. He blew a dry stone dyke up as a kid with grenades and had to spend the summer rebuilding it. :D
