So the CEO of the company where I work asks me to design and produce a ‘Dream Machine’.

The idea is that if the company exceeds its monthly profit margin, the wheel is spun and whoever it lands on gets £1000 to spend on their ‘dream’. A fantastic incentive I think you’d agree. There’s only been two months out of the past eleven where it hasn’t been spun.

Needless to say I was in my element designing it and I got a prop company down in Brighton to make it. There’s a remote controlled flashing LED strip going around the outside with around a hundred different colour combinations. Looks fab!

Very nice, I've never worked anywhere that had a bonus scheme. If you hit your targets here they just move the goalposts and carry on telling you how crap you are compared to the rest of the region...

I have to say it's a very cool place where I work. There's a massive amount of value put on the staff!

Throughout the building we've got 'Mood Monitors' and touch pads. You simply touch a face on the pad (Happy, Cool or Fed-up) and it appears in real time on the monitors. Hard to see from the pic but nearly everyone was Happy this week. If for any reason the vibe is on the fed-up side for a period of time, the CEO endeavors to rectify it. That happened a few weeks back so it was a full English for everyone. Job done.

Last week the company hired the Rye House Karting track for us all with a mega buffet and free booze. Think I'll stay here for a bit.

Look after your staff and they look after you, how many company's though put their profit first, and then they don't have a good outcome?

You want to get a proper job, in a proper industry.
Like engineering / manufacturing.
They've a knack of making you feel lucky to have a job at all.
Mind you it is give & take I 'spose. We give....etc.

You should try Engineering and the Water Industry then, they do the same.......Saying that, I've been made redundant twice in less than 36 Months (so I was lucky to have a job). :D

Both were leading brands in the Water and Wastewater sectors......so not little fish at the time!

No bonus scheme at the new place, but closer to home and security (if it can ever be said)......

Wheel of Fortune looks fantastic Jem!!!! 8-) :thumbright:

Made up....don't believe you Jem....not after the 'underground' blag!! :D :D

Kidding....fantastic design work matey and looks like a great place to work. If that mood monitor was at my place, everyone would hit the 'miserable' button just to wind the management up!!

Cheers Steve :thumbright:

Quite right, Jem. But fair play, I never wake up thinking " Chemicals, that's the life for me. "

Looks good Mate. Great work and I can imagine very rewarding.
