I stumbled across this site a few days ago...
Anyone remember Mick Cheley and his Mr Shifter T Bucket? His crewman Steve Bingham has put some great photos on his website from 'back in the day'....
Great memories from when we started going there and hanging out with Derek & Kay 'just married' Knight (1st pic), Steve Smy, Chris Wicks (all from the Watford area), Dave Mingay, Richard Eaton, Graham Barrs etc

Brilliant pictures!
Thanks for posting.
I saw a good few of those cars run back in the day.
I will always remember Henk Vink as well.

Great find Rob, brought back a lot of memories, but, the worst one was taking 3 and 3/4 hours to get out of the car park with a 2 1/2 hour drive home on top ( can't remember the year though, late 70's maybe).

I didn't get there until the early 80's. Recognised a few faces in those pics though!

Good post, the 70,s pics bring back memories for me.Best meet of that decade had to be the easter 76 when Big Daddy Don Garlits came over. Massive crowds and the first euro 5 second run by Pete Crane in Stormbringer.
World of sport on ITV even sent the cameras to record it for posterity, have watched it a few times on You Tube.
Happy days.

Yes a couple of times, not likely to see something like that again.

True, but the mad Frenchman on the Rocket bike is quite a sight to behold.
He ran (I think) 5.2 at the Pod this year.
