Hi,
In a few weeks my garage will be complete and I need to work out what I will be putting on the floor.
It is 13.5 x8m working out at 108 M2, which is quite a large area.

Previously in other smaller double garages, I've used a 2part epoxy system - this one in fact:

It works well, easy to apply and hard wearing.

I've been looking on US websites and they seem to be well ahead with epoxy flooring options, especially the full cover flake systems.

Who on here has a nice garage floor (UK based), what did you decide on in the end? Any feedback on what you have?

I'd like to do a little more than a huge block of grey on the floor this time.

Thanks - has anyone used any epoxy covering or similar?

I have the clip together tiling at home mainly due to the floor underneath being a bit crap, it works well but isn't that easy to clean up as it's studded. In a workshop proper I would want the epoxy stuff, it's hard wearing and clean up is easy. The floor at work was done with it and has lasted extremely well with very heavy traffic, forklifts, you name it. None of it has lifted it's just wearing away in places after 15 years...

I had a concrete floor and painted it, lasted well for a few years but its not flaking and dusty and as its so big (4 cars big) its a mammoth task to redo it. I like the idea of the epoxy but know I will have to remove all the dusting concrete.

We too have just discovered a skip full of old office carpet tiles, what a difference!! I haven't welded on them yet but no more dust, and if they burn I have some spares. It's temporary but I suspect that might be 5 years temporary.

For a concrete floor we pva'ed it first then floor painted it. Lasted around 5 years between repaints. Easy to wipe up oil spills too.
Carpet tiles tend to set light quickly if any welding/grinding is going on.
I've no experience of the epoxy but it does sound good.

Maybe use something like the above for work/heavy traffic areas and paint storage/light traffic areas?
