Hi all.

I’m going to attempt to replace the front subframe bushes. Just wondering if anyone has done this before and how difficult this is? And and advice in parts needed before starting. I have the bush set already.

Thanks in advance.

Hi all. Sorry. Would help if I put the car model. It’s a 73 Charger.

Miles' Road Runner will be the same, are you doing the K Frame bushes or the Lca, Uca, Strut rod bushes etc and are you using Poly's or Rubber?
I was researching this yesterday myself as well :) I'm about to change the Lca and Uca bushes on my 73 Charger also.
Might need access to a press from what I've watched on the net and I believe the Uca bushes are a bit tricky but doable.

I think they are the k frame ones. But I’m not exactly sure if the correct term.

The eBay number is 272200574637.

I’ve attached some pictures to aid what ones I’m doing.

Thanks for your help!

Yeah that's the K Frame bushes, I have the same kit myself to fit although my k frame is off the car atm. Miles replaced his whilst fitted to his Road Runner so he'll be able to give some advice as to how he went about it.
To begin though have a look at the chassis rails for some holes close to where the bushes fix and start squirting some wd40 or something similar in there towards the bolts, that should help.

Ok mate. Great.

Yea I’ve been giving it regular doses of wd40 but it’s still not giving in yet. And I don’t want to snap the bolts.

I’ll wait and see what miles says then. Hopefully he’ll go be me some advice or prep work.

Thanks for your help though

Ryan.

Yeah one of mine was reluctant to move and I was worried as well about snapping one, eventually it came out. Keep squinting them in the meantime though, maybe try another penetrating oil, Miles swears by a product called Gibbs,
