Insurance help / advice please

A good friend of mine bought a 2008 4wd Hemi Ram about a month ago.
After my great experience I suggested Brentacre to insure it , which he did.
However , he has just received a letter asking for him to provide evidence for the alarm system.
He called them for more information, and told them it was a stock factory alarm system.
They basically told him to get an electrician to confirm that the alarm was Thatcham approved , or a US equivalent !!!!
I never had any of this with both of my Rams insured with them.
Any help / advice would be great.
