MMA is now a member of the FBHVC.
With the ever increasing changes to regulations for using vehicles on the road, it was high time the MMA joined the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs.
“The Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs exists to uphold the freedom to use historic vehicles on the road. It does this by representing the interests of owners of such vehicles to politicians, government officials, and legislators both in the UK and (through the Federation Internationale des Vehicules Anciens) in Europe.
There are over 540 subscriber organisations, representing a total membership of over 250,000 in addition to individual and trade supporters.”
As a member club, we now have the backing of an organisation which seeks to represent the classic and old vehicle world, when rule changes are introduced that may affect the freedom for us to continue to use our cars and enjoy our hobby.
The recent MOT changes are just such an example, and no doubt there will be more legislation in the future which we need to be aware of.
It will also provide us with assistance when dealing with DVLA, as many members will have already benefitted from, when getting vehicles registered.
Some of the DVLA forms needed such as V765 or NOVA guidelines are on the FBHVC website together with many FAQ’s about all aspects of registering and licencing.
The FBHVC publish a magazine which is accessible as a pdf through its website to download, including the back issues in the archive.
Any member of a Member Club (which MMA now is) can access the ‘Members Area’. You will need to set up a username and password by visiting www.fbhvc.co.uk, select ‘Members Pages’ then ‘Members Area’ and finally click on ‘Register Here’. You will need to list the organisation as Mopar Muscle Association.
Please all take a moment to look at the FBHVC website as it has many interesting pages of interest to all members including Legislation & Fuels, Research, Heritage, Culture & Museums, Trade & Skills, Technical & Events and FIVA.
