Ok it is with a heavy heart and tears in my eyes that I am typing this. Robin has always called my baby "the little yellow banarama" and it has proved to be even more of a banarama than even he thought.

I have admitted defeat as what we have discovered is way beyond what I wanted to see and way way beyond what we are able to fix, time wise and money wise, even though I thouroughly enjoyed owning her.

Totally selfish reasons I'm pleased that aren't any shows at the moment as I don't feel I would be able to face anyone. I do the typical girly thing and if someone says where's your car I'd start blubbing.

Every Mopar we have owned as been a PITA but guess what......

I'm still a Mopar girl at heart

What goes through my head is what if ?? At least we found out the safe way.

So sorry to hear this - anything can be fixed, but it is a question of budget (as ever!).

Like you say, the most you can take from this is that you did not find out "in Anger".

That's just one part, will need a new front chassis leg and there is a fist size hole near the rear spring hanger, needs body work, which we were aware of but this was a total shock after everone said how solid it was underneath, including 3 MOT testers. Aparantly it was hidden by a shield or something.

We have sold it on and it is going to be retsored to a much higher level than we would have done and I am going to be able to see progress along the way and be one of the first to get a drive in it when it's done. The little yellow banarama will live on :-)

Firstly, thats a real shame. Sorry for you

Secondly - that looks like where the guard is on my Charger - (it has to come off all the time for stuff) and I am truly shocked that 3 MOT testers didnt see that. Yes, its a guard but it isnt really all-covering. Thats really scary. Well done for finding out safely and for having the integrity to declare it when sold.

The guys that have bought it are doing it all properly, it isn't their first Mopar restoration and no way would we have sold it to anyone we thought would just bodge it, it isn't just that idiot's life on the line but anyone else who may be unfortunate enough to be involved in the accident.

Like you say at least you found it the safe way.
Is that the driver's frame rail? my Charger had some rot in a similar place, there's was a guard fixed there too.

Sorry to see this, you must have been gutted. I enjoyed looked at pics of your car, always looked stunning. You've still got another Mopar so all's not lost.
