Amber indicator paint

Looking for recommendations for translucent paint. :-k

My front indicators are cracked and broken. I have some spares from a helpful member (cheers Andy, :thumbright: ) which fit, but have clear lenses. Don’t see any way to separate them and replace the lenses only and don’t really want amber bulbs, so new plan is to try and paint the lenses.

Seem to be loads of options around, so hoping someone has tried some and can recommend any, as I only have one shot at this. [-o<

Lenses are hard plastic, not sure if glass paint will be any good or not. :-k

I want to retain the stock look of the lights, rather than have visible bulbs through the lenses. :thumbright:

Amber LED's are probably your best bet.

Duel colour Led's behind my lenses.

You could use 'dual filament' LED bulbs (amber and white) with the original clear lenses - best of both worlds!

All valid suggestions, ta, but the stock lenses are amber and I want to retain that look, so still looking for a good paint option for the clear replacements I’ve got. :thumbright:

Maybe a light filter gel sheet such as

Cut a couple of circles and stick behind your lenses, cheap enough to give it a try possibly.

I used a paint like that on my Caddy Indicators it’s a while back now but I think I still have the container on my big shelf, pretty sure it was brush application and originally for continental yellowing. I’m away for a bit but will look on my return and report back.

Would Challenger lenses fit for you? Think I still have a set of the amber lenses - can have a look tonight if you want - went the route of combined led with clear.

Yep! It’s a 70 Challenger, if you have good condition amber lenses, I’d be interested! :thumbright: 8-)
