Official letter from a Mopar club for DVLA?

Hi,

My 1983 Chrysler LeBaron was incorrectly registered as 'green/brown' when it was imported from the US into Liverpool in 2020. The VIN/body plate has the paint code as BT8 which is Dark Sable Brown/Sable Brown. Can only assume the person made a mistake...

I wrote to DVLA to get this changed because on parking apps and insurer databases it comes up as 'green' - so obviously it needs changing to brown.

DVLA say they need confirmation from an 'official from recognised owner's club confirming the colour code" etc.

Pic below - it's clearly brown...plus faux wood...

Would any officials of MMA UK be able to help me? Perhaps we can DM and get some wording agreed?

Hi Mr Hankman,
Ordinarily i think Matt H (Matt Hollingsworth) who is the club Vehicle Registrar would sort something out. But he's currently on holiday for another week or so.
I'm sure he'll pick up on this when he returns, or you could pm him just to be sure.

Yes - well spotted! This was the model of car in Planes, Trains & Automobiles. For the movie they added a new front grille as I understand that Chrysler/Dodge didn't want their car featured recognisably.

It's the K-body platform with front wheel drive. From what I understand, Chrysler was losing popularity so they built a 'new' car by raiding the parts bin. They didn't have an engine at that point so used the Mitsubishi 2.6 Astron engine as a stop gap.
