block plugs 1 5/8", heads 1 1/4" on sides & 1" at ends

Is name is Darren, the red / orange car is the same one, I did the short motor, Darren finished and fitted it, think it ran 13s.

When you remove exhaust manifold, look closely under the 2 joining exhaust ports, ive had them crack there :roll:

Nothing wrong with doing it yourself Pete, Thats how everyone had to do it before there was some decent heads out there. But, what I will say, If you have to buy stainless valves, springs, retainers, locks, stem seals, have the seats cut, guides, cut the guides for seals, skim the heads,,,,then port...

The head bolts dont go into water on a BB or SB mopar, your probably correct on head core plug, if its rusting through, chances are, all the core plugs are rusty, so may cause problems in the future,,,,K-seal will block your radiator,,,,so put another radiator on to run engine up if you go that rout...

Ive got a pair of 915s Pete,that I would sell,but to be honest,a pair of eddys will make more power,
Its all in the heads :thumbright:

No, you can put hydraulic roller lifters on a hydraulic flat tappet cam.

Bodge job is just putting a load of old parts together,just adding rings,bearings and gaskets Rebuilt is with new pistons,rings,cam and lifters,bearings,gasket,valves,springs,locks etc,with rebore,crank grind,balancing etc Proper rebuild,is all of the above with quality parts,forged pistons,good rod...

Theres a million answers to your question, are you doing a bodge job, or a proper rebuild? Its all down to your budget, and performance expectations.

A real loss to the Mopar hobby, and especially to his family, always a pleasure to chat with, although he didnt agree with my " race any mopar" views,I dont think we ever had a crossed word.
