Re: My Dream Almost Complete At Last!!

Good feeling to get watertight eh? Funny thing condensation, I used to have a well ventilated place that was awful for it and my present place has neither ventilation or insulation maybe it’s because it’s mainly wood?

Re: My Dream Almost Complete At Last!!

Insulation is expensive but I’d definitely do it if you can Steve, walls as well. It’s not just about keeping heat in or out, it stops condensation which is something you really don’t want in a workspace. Due to building regs we had no option but to use 150mm of insulation on our project which inclu ...

Re: Re barrel wheels

I don’t think it would be any great problem if you adjust your driving to suit. My tyres are 27” and 28” tall and my spare is around 26”, much bigger and it wouldn’t fit in the well.

Re: Re barrel wheels

If you are talking about halfshafts, all 8.75” axles have the same spline count.

Re: Re barrel wheels

As far as I know all the V8 RHD cars came with an 8.75” rear axle. Aftermarket halfshafts are avilable to convert to 4.50 PCD. I wasn’t aware you can convert the front with Australian parts, I’ll have to remember that!

Re: Re barrel wheels

Unfortunately cast wheels usually only come in one offset that is never optimal and that ties your hands somewhat. It doesn’t help that the back axle is a bit on the wide side as well so the only offset you can get to work might be on narrower rim than you’d really want to use. There is a trick on th ...

Re: 318 upgrade ?

You will also need to find a machinist that will do the work for a less than insane price. I was told yesterday £600 is the going rate to rebore a V8 block and same again to balance the rotating assembly. There must still be people out there that do quality work for a good deal less than that surely?

Re: Re barrel wheels

The usual problem with 4”PCD is the centre bore is often too big on most aftermarket wheels to drill a pattern that small. Provided they can do that in a size and offset suitable then job done!

Re: Interior panel restoration

I used to use something similar in the ‘90’s Black plastic external trim would always turn grey after a few years, the stuff was almost like an oil you rubbed on and it did the trick. It would go grey again after a couple of months and you’d have to do it again. I’ve seen videos online of people warm ...
