Re: Blue's Barracuda

Modified my shiny new Dash trim to take the gauge panel I made last year in the heater control area. This will place the oil pressure and mechanical temp gauge in an area where I can easily see them. Under the dash might look cool but it’s hopeless if you are actually going to use them while driving...

Re: Blue's Barracuda

Indeed, it’s considerably lighter now, probably half the weight it was. I have some self adhesive chrome tape I’ll apply to the inside so it still acts as a reflector for the panel lights.

Re: Slip yoke

With weight on the rear wheels, bottom the yoke and pull out 3/4” and then measure between the yokes is the usual way to arrive at the correct prop length. I assume you are thinking your prop is the wrong length?

Couldn’t help noticing just how heavy the pot metal instrument housing is, I’ll be having a look at that….

Re: Blue's Barracuda

Final step is fitting a Voltmeter decal to complete the look. Can all be reinstalled now and wired to suit. I need to check but I think all that needs doing is to move the large red and black wires for the Ammeter onto one terminal of the voltmeter and earth the other side, assuming that’s the case ...

Re: Blue's Barracuda

Next comes the tricky job of snipping off the original needle and gluing it to the new needle as it’s a different shape and needs to be moved up a bit to match.

Re: Blue's Barracuda

Next step is to glue the Bosch face under the mopar face so that you can use the tiny screws to fit it all together.

Re: Blue's Barracuda

First job is gut it, the face comes off with 2 tiny screws. The face of the factory Ammeter is held on by 2 tiny rivets, I cut through them from behind so as not to damage the face.

Re: Blue's Barracuda

Given we all tend to bypass the factory Amp gauge due to the lousy design and potential fire risk, I wanted to do a constuctive mod. Converting the Amp gauge to a voltmeter is pretty straightforward though fiddly job. I’m not taking credit for this, a mooch around the net showed it’s been done many ...

Re: Blue's Barracuda

No I’m done with big blocks, I really like stroker small blocks. I have new heads and intake to fit which should add a bit more HP.

Re: Frame measurement tollerance?

Firstly I don’t know what the tolerances are but I would be wanting to work to an 1/8” if possible. If you can correct it by jacking stuff around then Personally I’d do it.

I can see where you are headed, nicely stitched covers and you have some sharp looking armrests.
