I'll be happy if I can get some of the parts currently residing on the dining room table moved onto/into the Challenger.

Might even get it painted.

Well, looks like the bodywork is basically complete. New Year One door skins and deck filler panel installed and look good. Next thing, hopefully, is a trial fit of the 440.

As I can't get to the NEC this weekend, let me provide you with an update on the progress with the bodywork. I mentioned previously that the intention was to convert this 318 Auto car to a 4 speed manual and as progress toward this, the 4 speed hump has now been installed. On the downside, the metal...

Whilst waiting for the new door skins to arrive a bit of investigation was done on the rear roof pillar join. A couple of pinholes on the left hand side and a patch on the right. Both sides cut out and new metal welded in and leaded. As I've said, I'm using a bodyshop to complete this work for me (a...

This is a picture of my 72 which has already had a 70 rear panel fitted. Might give you some idea of the differences/work involved in converting yours. if you're going to convert, get a set of 70 lights first and then adapt the panel to fit them but I think the results would be better using the 70 p...

When I bought the car I checked the condition of the bottom of the doors and although I was aware that a repair would be required, it looks like the metal worm has had a bit more fun than I originally anticipated. The most cost effective option is to replace the skin and as the driver's side isn't m...

As I mentioned previously, the boot gutter has previously been the subject of some overzealous use of filler which has meant replacing the channels. The original rear valance panel had a rust hole in the centre so this was always intended to be replaced. The replacement panel was obtained in kit for...

Thanks for the advice. Knowing my ability to start something and then lose interest, I think it may be something I'll get done professionally.

Door Skins

I'm considering replacing the door skins on my Challenger as this may ultimately be the best course of action as the existing panels seem to have led a very hard life.

Any comments/observations/experiences on this topic would be appreciated.

Thank for the comments.

Rear bumper structure seems solid enough without it at the moment so think I'll add it to the "sort in the future" list.
