Yes, the R34 is scarce and the last of the breed. Also looks the part.

I like the R32 because it's the original Bathurst "Godzilla"

It's the lightest and must have been something else in 1989/90!

The R33 by comparison - doesn't really do it for me somehow.

98-2002 X308 XJR 370bhp Supercharged V8 and the last of the classic gentlemans XJ looks. Also the same period of XKR. C63 AMG 6.2 M156 - They got this one right! And loads of other stuff. I See R32 Skylines are finally taking off, often thought about a tidy one of those. M3 CSL and Alfa Romeo 8C (th...

Thank's for the tip with the leak. I think it will probably be OK; I'll just have to go for it! He was a wireless enthusiast and repaired lots of them. We have been clearing out literally hundreds of radios. Quite a few of them were repaired by him. We have just auctioned off a few of the sets and b...

Love this thread. I collect a bit of Hi-Fi too. I did have some of those Sonab speakers and they sounded great until the cone surrounds failed, never did get them re-coned. I have a pair of KEF Reference 104 - they sound great for their age. I have just inherited a leak TL12 plus and Varioslope III ...

Anything with high cold cranking amps and not supplied by a budget brand.

I have a yuasa at the moment, Bosch do premium batteries that I have also found good on some other cars I have.

Sounds ignition related, but I believe the 8 series was the first production car to use can bus wiring, they are pretty complex for the age! Maybe post on a 8 series site to see if you can get any pointers? 850i is certainly the one to have (bar the 850CSI suedo M car), and they seem to be on the up...

Thanks for all of the tips guys, at the moment I am most likely to build it myself.

I am going to source another engine/block and build it up nice and slowly and after reading plenty of books.

I do love a good project :)

'65 belvedere in American Car Magazine

Nice motor, a '65 Belvedere II with 426 Wedge engine, and even used to be a shed dragger.

On the front cover of this months American Car Museum.
