Paint before vinyl or vinyl before paint .....

So, having sorted the "crunchy" underside of the vinyl that lay beneath the rear window, given it a skimcoat, wet flatted with 1500, and applied a healthy layer of primer, I'm now at that point of putting it all back together. I sourced some correct chrome trim from Duncan Cannonball to re...

Taking my muscle to Sweden and beyond ....

Hi guys, I know that there are many of you that hit the Swedish events and other places further afield. I need to take the Challenger to Stockholm and then Tallinn to join my father in law with his big GMC van for a big US car meet. I’ve driven a 1970 VW Baywindow camper to Moscow before but that di...

so you will need to paint to a fold edge or swage in any panel to mask the effect
Cheers Dave ...... I was considering masking it in along the body fold line .... I guess we will just have to see what transpires.#

Re: Matching paint.

Cheers mate. I’ve had to take the bloody boot off as no filler cap and it’s the smallest panel !
Hopefully it’ll be a success.

Matching paint.

Can someone tell me whether the “gun” or “eye” that apparently exists that can match your exact paint shade is not just a figment of someone’s imagination?
I need to touch up my Sublime Green but it isn’t the standard paint code match.
Cheers guys.

Re: record player recommendations

A good Linn Sondeck turntable with a good cartridge will give exceptional sound if partnered with a good valve based amp. You can get new ones, but i'd hunt around ebay for a B&O Beomaster series, they're bloody bulletproof and produce a lovely tone with vinyl. Speakers are either a pair of vint...

Re: Dreaded vinyl roof rust !

Clips are fun! The bits that hold them are small mushroom rivets / screws that fit in whilst the screen is out That;s a bit of a bugger as I wasn't planning on removing the rear screen. Currently, I'm going to attempt to sort the rusted bit (might have to weld in a small patch), grind back, skim, p...

Re: Dreaded vinyl roof rust !

Yeah Pete, clips are a must but to be fair, I’m trying to avoid turning this into a massive job - if I get a new panel, I may as well get new vinyl for the top which means revealing all under that roof cover - not sure I’m ready for that just yet, may have to get a standby car I can drive while I ca...
