I bought my charger 2 years ago on here. I traced the history and owners back to 1978. It was Tim Fennel’s car which he had imported. Reg DMT 194V. It’s had 7 other owners since and a few colour changes. Here’s a photo of the car from 78. Not sure who the other guys are but they were taking the air ...

Thanks blue, that clears it up perfectly. I figured the tail shaft would have to be removed to take it out and replace the seal but was hoping the rest could remain in place. I think il try the silicone blob as a temporary fix until I find time to sort it properly. Il replace those parts you listed ...
