If they are the original springs they are now over 50yrs old, so probably could do with a refurb. I would start with the springs.

Depending on where you are…Paddington Springs in Wembley will refurb them and set them to what you’re looking for.

Who’s Grace and is that Brooklands museum?

Grace Roaf, she teaches apprentices at Brooklands museum, very skilled welder and metalworker. She also crews for Don Scott in NSS and the Undertaker funny car.

When you have vented the lines was it at the carb and you witnessed fuel coming out of the inlet to the carb by turning the engine over and fuel coming out the line... if you did i am guessing the fuel lock be occurring in the carb itself...which i would imagine the spacer will probably help?
