Finally getting some colour on the turd
Pleased with my colour choice,
I’ve gone for Porsche Grandprix White,
A late 70’s RS colour , absolutely spot on for GM Polar but a shade cleaner,
And more importantly reproducible, as it’s a catalog colour

The whole flat black under the hood on theses F body’s is a proper PITA , finally finished it today, so now just old school white !

His quote was virtually identical to summits

I guess for pure street use and general rumbling around a eagle or scat cast crank should be fine,
They are half the cost of a forged Jobbie,

Unfortunately my original crank is the tough N cast Jobbie and is in excellent shape,however it’s been cut 40 under and there’s just zero 40 over bearings available now,

Far Eastern Cast cranks have a bad reputation for being rubbish, it would seem a Forged one is one way of lessening

Obviously it was my job and I was paid , but it was the water shed restoration that made me decide to get out !

Doing buses and coaches isn’t or wasn’t stressful!

I gave up tier one stuff around 8 years ago
My eyes were getting tired, and I found the whole trailer queen stuff so tedious,
I spent 6 weeks just on the underside of this XK,
Just pure showboating, illuminated mirrors to show off the details etc

Milestone reached today, got the last panel the right hand door shell in final primer ,
Line drawn now, I guess there will be some minor wobbly bits but it’s not a show queen and will be driven and used as much as I can !

Managed to get a few more bits fitted,
And I’ve completed the hood both quarters and one door at work, so one remaining door and the turds ready for colour,
