Re: Rear Axles.

I realise this is a dead thread, but adding a bit more information for anyone reading it for reference... The '60s B-body sedans had two different axle lengths, but they were just under an inch different to each other and basically both compatible with the VH and later Valiant rears. It is entirely ...

Re: Where has all chats gone ?

Here's a good one for Tilley and his VF... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQdA3yKJimQ Even though he's leading the race for eight laps, he doesn't get a lot of camera time until he blows the engine and has an oil fire to put out. That makes it hard, Dave...

225 Slant 6 is probably the good option then, in due time to get some longer rods and fresh appropriate pistons with lower deck height, triple SUs, the slant 904 will handle that.

Long rods came in the 198 version of the slant 6.

Re: Period correct engine

A Hemi 6 is a decent option... Dave mentions the prospect of the torsion bar crossmember having been butchered, so what I write here is in the belief that it hasn't or it will be fixed. With a Hemi 6 to 3-speed bellhousing on a Hemi 6 you can use an A230 3-speed, it bolts straight up. They are avail...

Re: And so it begins! 318 Poly to 360 LA Swap

How come it's considered the Poly is as heavy as a big block? I remember weighing parts a few years ago and that wasn't how I found it to be. The heads are certainly heavier than LA heads and the block's a little heavier, but not enormously so. Same crank, same rods, same timing cover, same water pu...
