Re: Non-start connundrum after a starter relay short

That's how I have the starter wired up. The car was running before the short incident and nothing has been changed since but now the only sound I hear is the single click from the starter relay located on the firewall when the key is turned to the crank position.

Non-start connundrum after a starter relay short

To be brief, the metal capillary wire from a temporary temp gauge I had wired up in the engine bay arced across the starter 'BAT' and 'SOL' terminals on the starter relay during a test fire. (Engine has run several times before then with no prior issues). I test fired the engine immediately after to...

Re: Holy kickdown servo, Batman!

A good dose of detergent and a full strip down has everything looking a lot better, but no amount of cleaning is gonna remedy the broken piston. I just hope someone in the UK has a spare one as I want to get the box back together as soon as possible

Holy kickdown servo, Batman!

Finally getting around to refreshing the big block 727 gearbox from my '70 Charger that was found sitting in the desert behind a transmission shop in Nevada and I'm glad I bought a comprehensive overhaul kit, because the internals are COOKED! https://i.imgur.com/ywbtq7A.jpg That being said, can anyb...

Re: 1970 440 R/T Charger Driveway resto/rebuild

Now that imgur is behaving, I am able to show some of the work that I've done so far https://i.imgur.com/sK9fuHY.jpg As the car is about a foot longer than my garage is deeper, I'm restoring the car under a gazebo. The one you see here subsequently got destroyed in the storm on Boxing day, but a new...

Re: 1970 440 R/T Charger Driveway resto/rebuild

Hi Derek, Indeed I have! I got lucky with this car as it is solid underneath. As I'm doing all of the work myself, it keeps labour costs down so I'm able to throw it into parts instead. There'll be more updates by the end of the week as I'm picking up a van full of parts, and possibly even the engin...

Re: 1970 440 R/T Charger Driveway resto/rebuild

Hi Pete, I have seen Karl's videos on youtube under Torque American, I believe. Plans with the car are to have something that isn't a pig to drive on the road, but will be quite happy on the strip too. The (lofty) goal is to have it at least driving so I can attend Mopar Euro Nationals at Santa Pod ...

1970 440 R/T Charger Driveway resto/rebuild

Hi all, I figured I would introduce you to my latest project which I imported over from Montana. It is a 1970 R/T SE Dodge Charger that I managed to pick up for a pretty good price thanks to COVID limiting travel. Originally found around the back of a transmission shop in Nevada where it had sat for...
