Re: 1970 Dodge Challenger

Yeh, I know the seller and know when he bought it. I think its too much of a project for him right now as he has a few other cars on the go.

How does the price look to you guys? I think the best he's been offered is £10k. Its the right year for a Challenger and near enough an R/T being the A66 code.

Edit - the last photo shows the bush in the bracket, whereas the 2nd pic it looks like it's come out?

Doesn't look like its sitting in there to me.

Re: 727 hard shifting.

Hi Andy is that shaft the horizontal pivot shaft for the kickdown? On my B body there is a stub shaft and pivoting bracket that screws into the trans casing. Either way that plastic bush needs to be in the hole in the bracket to centralise the shaft. Otherwise it's all a bit vague. Edit - the last ...

Re: 727 hard shifting.

So I managed to find the time to have a quick look at why the Trucks not shifting into 3rd. Its an intermittent issue. Last night I drove into town and although it shifted into 3rd it was a little hard. On the way home it would not shift into 3rd, which was very frustrating, I gave the column shift ...

Hesitation/bogging

Ive a 400ci in the truck and it has a really bad case of bogging when pulling away. The engine has to be warm to minimize the bogging but even then I have to feather the throttle to get past it. When its cold/coldish it just conks out. Other than the bogging the engine is really strong and really ha...

Re: 1976 Dodge D300 Adventurer SE.

Nice truck. As said above - unusual to see a Dodge dually. As you've undoubtedly considered, your vibration issue might be something as simple as wheel balancing but I'd also check the ages of the tyres - especially the inboard rears. Old tyres are prone to delamination and it may be that a good ou...

Re: 1976 Dodge D300 Adventurer SE.

Like the look of this, quite partial to a bit of truckage. Have you had it in the air yet to check out the suspension and try and isolate the wobble? Are you sure you weren’t falling asleep on the long journey and hitting the rumble strip. :D  Ive not had a chance to drive it since let a lone ...

Re: 1976 Dodge D300 Adventurer SE.

Andy, my old Dodge D100 318 truck only did 10-12 mPg with 4:1 rear end. I loved it, but sold it partially due to the shocking mpg. Good to know. :) Its a very quick and fun truck, its really hauls ass but even the lightest of feathered throttle results in shocking MPG. I feel I should have bought t...

727 hard shifting.

So, Ive just bought a '76 D300 with a 400ci and 727. I drove it home over 500 miles yesterday and it seems like the shifting was getting slightly and progressively worse. It felt like the shifting was getting harder the closer to home I got and within a couple of miles of home it never shifted from ...

1976 Dodge D300 Adventurer SE.

So thats me finally back in the Mopar fold again. This time Ive got a Truck, something Ive always had an itch for and will come in handy with my firewood and sawmilling side line. Its a one owner from new Truck. Was owned by a Transmission Shop that used it as a shop Truck and also to haul his race ...
