Re: Engine Vibration

Am I right in saying you got hit by someone recently? If so, shouldn’t this all be being taken care of by the insurance company? Ignore me if that’s wrong. Yes it has been since the accident but I have to find the problem first. It's been 5 months and I am fighting useless solicitors supplied by Br...

Re: Engine Vibration

You seems to have checked & verified a lot of the main causes, one thing I can think of & assuming it’s auto is the flex plate, possible cracked, broken. I have turned over the engine by hand and looked at the flex plate and cannot see cracks, Also I have had a crossflow ford with a cracked...

Engine Vibration

Ok I have been chasing down vibration issues on my Challenger. I have re balanced the rear wheels and had the prop shaft re built and balanced. I also fitted a new gearbox mount, as this looked suspect too. All to no avail. At over sixty the whole car vibrates and then I realised it does it with jus...

Re: Fender rust removal

Dave, I often imagine your workshop to look something like this… :D Brilliant, though. :read2: everything the same, apart from a decent light.... :) I suspected as much  anyway I will experiment(pardon the pun) with phosphoric acid for now and some Norton blaze strip disc which I have fo...

Re: Fender rust removal

I love the out of the box thinking you have Dave. I would love to try this If i can find a tank big enough. I do have oxacilic acid but That might be very slow as you say. :D I might try the Phosphoric acid solution I just need to find the right dilution to do the trick.

Fender rust removal

I want to de rust these fenders before fitting. I have been looking into media blasting the inside and then protecting with some sort of paint, but cannot find anyone within my area to do it. I have used POR 15 metal prep with good results too but it is a big area too wire wheel off before doing it....

Cuda and challenger exhausts?

Matt on here is selling an exhaust system off Gavins big block Cuda. Question is how much different are they to challenger small block? I know the tips will be wrong but what about the rest of it I think the down pipes are for cast manifolds not a header system Any idea's :-k

Body support when changing rear end metal work

When changing rear quarters, trunk floor and outer wheel houses, I have been looking around the internet at lots of sites, it seems there are mixed opinions on bracing the rear end before changing these parts. Some say leave them on its wheels others say to brace it up. I would have thought you shou...

Re: 904 prop yokes?

I googled doing the bush bit like fitting a double race bearing in hub I guess. Where is the best place over here to get transmission bits and 8 3/4 axle bits eg gaskets hub seals and such like. I am also wondering whether to get a sure grip back in mine, I have not been nuts on it since the old one...

Re: 904 prop yokes?

There should be no play at all in the UJ's, personally I'd replace them both. Slop at the yoke is liable to be a worn tail shaft bush rather than the yoke itself. Is the tail shaft bush an easy fix? I am going to have to get a specialist to look at the axle near me. Trouble is the assessor has deem...

904 prop yokes?

I am still trying to chase down this vibration at the back of my Challenger. Re balancing the rear wheels did nothing to improve it. So I have been under the car again! I have found a very small bit of play in the front U/J, but more to the point the front yoke seems very sloppy and when I rock the ...
