Re: Locking out timing on a street car
Agreed, but if you have the right ECU, you can lock out the timing and take that out of the equation, phase the Distributor as best you can (Much easier with a Crank Trigger) and then programme to suit the engine's needs.
I think that engines on modern fuels want as much timing as early as possible ...

Re: Locking out timing on a street car
I have run locked out timing on the street, and all the race cars have had locked out timing, but have Crank Triggers for greater accuracy.

Re: Locking out timing on a street car
From memory the Digital 6 has the "Starter Saver" that takes 15 Degrees out when cranking?
If you you should probably get away with locking out and still be able to crank the motor.
I think these days 38 degrees is a bit much, most people run 34 degrees all in...

Re: RV with 440 - stock manifold or headers?
I would imagine that Headers are the only realistic option, but I would not wrap them.
The wrapping, whilst being "Cool" on Hipsters murdercycles, retain the moisture and I have seen Headers literally fall apart in a very short time - it made the steel fall off in layers!
Your car, so your call ...

Re: Raising car on 4 axle stands
We are having to replace a 2 Post Ramp at work because a 3 phase switch is intermittent and is about 1/3rd the cost of a complete new Ramp!!!

Re: Raising car on 4 axle stands
Pete - if you see this - do you know anyone local-ish that does trolley-jack servicing?
Ours could do with a bit of a freshen-up, as one doesn't lift as far as it should and the other doesn't lower in a controlled manner...
I was wondering if Thunder Road get theirs repaired/serviced? :-k ...
