Re: It's Friday so let's rock!
And a couple of weeks ago we saw The Black Crowes at good ol' Hammy O (or Eventim Apollo, as it's known these days  ) Back to their best with a good new album but highlight of the show for many was when Steven Tyler came on for a rendition of Aerosmith oldie Mama Kin... Last time we saw Tyler ...

Re: It's Friday so let's rock!
This week, I've mostly been seeing Jane's Addiction... original members back together for the first time in a few years. Singer Perry Farrell's voice isnt what it used to be sadly, but he makes the most of what he's got, but the other 3 are still right up there with the best at what they do... Last ...

Re: MMA / Chryslers at Brooklands pics
Great pics. I do like the look of that Blue Charger in the first pic. Not seen that one before and nice to see the St Alban's Charger back on the road! I was talking to the owner, he’s from Crowborough. He saw it advertised in the states and flew over to look at it. Struck a deal and got it shipped...

MMA / Chryslers at Brooklands pics
Managed to sneak in early under the guise of being Marshals, as we had the 'merch' and tables to deliver to the stand. Although we have membership cards anyway, the lad on the gate didn't want to see them, so maybe that's the answer to anyone who moans about the entrance fee... volunteer to be marsh...

Re: Rob & Stu's 63 Polara 500
Thanks Pete. I found a version of that gizmo for sale on Amazon, says the brand is Edelbrock, but I don't think they're the manufacturer  www.amazon.co.uk/Uni-Syn-Carburettor-Balancing-Instrument-2BBL/dp/B00062YC2E Looks like Marc did a nice job on the part it's mounted to - is it spun? I hadn...

Re: Rob & Stu's 63 Polara 500
I meant to add, another indication that we still had a vacuum leak was, using the vacuum gauge, we could still only get around 5 inches at 900-1000 rpm idle. The data sheet we have for these carbs on this engine say they should have 19.5 inches at idle (idle being 900 rpm). Sounds optimistic ...

Re: Rob & Stu's 63 Polara 500
get Marc S to make you one of these ,i find it easy to use better than vac gauges ,,,,Sorry about the problems but they are easily solved if not rather annoying ...One thing i have found out is the stock MW air filters choke the life out of my engine ,,,It runs very rich with them on and i do not w...

Re: Rob & Stu's 63 Polara 500
It’s a good step forward, though! They look fantastic and sounds like they have made a real difference, despite the fresh issue. Thanks Stu, spot on. At least now we know the carbs are ok, it made it easier to find the other issue. And curing the starting issues (if indeed it has done), has been an...

Re: Rob & Stu's 63 Polara 500
Then today, with the help again from MMA-mate Ian, we got them fitted with new fuel lines and spent a bit of time (understatement) setting the idle mixtures and getting them balanced. 20240516_195700.jpg 20240518_182339.jpg 20240518_182405.jpg 20240518_182448.jpg 20240518_182504.jpg Then on the 2nd ...

Re: Rob & Stu's 63 Polara 500
So... a couple of months back we got to the point where we realised our original (to the engine) carbs really could do with a proper rebuild. They were supposedly rebuilt 20 years ago just before we bought the car but judging by how the rest of the engine was thrown together, they probably just had ...
