Power Steering Seal?

On 600+mile drive down France in the summer I had a significant amount of oil down the side of the van   It came from the drivers wheel arch area which is exactly where the steering box is, it must have come from the steering box and it seemed like ATF, difficult to tell, it was rainin...

Re: Dirty 72 Van

Progress, Got the new carb fitted, followed advice and got a snap on gun and FBO plate, currently 22 initial which I know is a lot. Its starting happily, not pinking and seems to run spot on once warm and off the choke. I need to look into the electric choke, runs a dog on the choke, black smoke and...

Re: Another boring one.... 360 Timing?

Thank you so much for the help so far, right team..... I got an FBO plate and an old snap on timing light on your advice. Just a reminder - Bone stocker 360 with an inlet and a Holley 4 barrel, has decent compression and doesn't smoke or use oil. I started this late in the day so didn't get that far...

Re: Another boring one.... 360 Timing?

Ok, next question... which will show my experience in this. 1. How do I measure total advance? (Marks on the timing cover go to ten only... ) Currently I have very cheap draper timing light, I assume I need a decent timing light instead? Or Using timing tape? - Is that a good idea? 2. What 'pr...

Re: CAN U RECOMMEND USA SHIPPERS PLEASE

Ah,

I have had quite a few motors over with them in the last 4 years, but never had any 'issues', plain sailing  . Interesting, only ever heard positive reviews on them.

Thanks Gents, This one? http://www.moparuk.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=35679 by Dave-R » Sun May 22, 11 2:21 pm They will all smell rich until you have a lot more initial ignition timing than stock. You need to sort that out before adjusting the carb. Even with a completely stock engine you w...

Re: Dirty 72 Van

Yes 2176, I left the spacer off for now due to clearance but if I get a 2" tall air filter element I could run it, I would like to keep the heat off the carb. Well its all together, initial test drive is good. Most noticeable difference is the aftermarket air filter housing is twice as loud as ...

Another boring one.... 360 Timing?

Hi all, Stock 360 with aftermarket four barrel and manifold, its a 72 with a Mopar factory style electronic ignition. What initial timing would you go for? What was the original factory initial timing recommendation out of curiosity? Its at 8 bttc, with the dizzy vac advance plugged. When the car is...

Re: Dirty 72 Van

So I have been looking for a 4 barrel to replace the old 2bbl. I want reliability hence a new carb and in the fullness of time with some headers it may release a few HP. Its only an 1850 style with a choke, so not a performance orientated carb but should be an improvement. After some research I foun...

Fitting a used performer intake

Hi all, Daft small question, I have a used performer inlet from the states, cleaned up ok, threads all good. I have a felpro 72' 360 full engine gasket set which I think has the metal 'stamped' oe style intake gaskets. I understand not using the cork ends (Thick bead rtv instead) and removing the do...
