Just checking that you know KPI is NOT the same as Caster ?

KPI is the angle of the steering axis viewed from the front of the car . Caster is the angle viewed from the side .

More caster will give you better self-centre.

SSBC kit on my 68 Coronet works a treat - I've found SSBC's own tech helpline to be good in the past .

alloy covers often do not seal because the raised lip on the head is nowhere near true. It's often about 1/16 low at the rear & front of the head, and the ally cover won't bend to accommodate..

Also, make sure the fasteners aren't bottoming out in the holes.

The front studs are swaged over onto the drums after installation through the hub and are extremely difficult to remove.

Much easier to get LH nuts . Raceways at Donington have a good selection including unilug etc

I've read that most anyone in the US who has Konis is very happy indeed with them.

I just fitted a set of Edelbrocks , and they're excellent as well - from what I've read , general opinion seems to be that these are second best choice to the Konis.

Andy - sounds like you've got vacuum initially , but it's disappearing once you've pressed the pedal . First thing to check is that the vac hose from the carb/intake manifold to the booster isn't kinked or hasn't collapsed internally . (Had a perfectly good looking one collapse internally once - exa...

Steve - good point , but , (going from memory here , feel free to argue) the construction of this part of the assembly is such that it is absolutely not meant to be airtight . The cast plate behind the master cylinder seals the rim of the booster's internal rubber seal to the booster body - this is ...

ditto that - thought I would be OK driving home a VW LT van after the rear of the exhaust fell off . Until the exhaust gases from the 'new outlet' melted through the (plastic) fuel line.

Diesel, fortunately.

I don't think the item you're talking about is a seal - it's a little foam air filter which is sandwiched in the upper part between the white plastic clip-on plate and the cast metal plate . Both plates fit between the booster and the master cylinder. As far as I can gather, this vents the side of t...
