On a more serious note - I dont know what IS a sensible price. My last valuation was TonyO (:() and was £40k I think - this is the one I have lodged with insurance. At the time I thought it was a full figure but prices were edging up so probably ok. I dont know what to think now. Whats everyone else...

Thats interesting. He used a 727 gearbox so didnt cut any tunnels about; needed a manual valve body. The ECU etc seem to be aftermarket and available. All under bonnet (some of the breakers yard engines are mated to the donor car and come with all sorts of dashboard gubbins to make it work). Engine ...

Thanks Colin. Yes, I think its the way to go - just got to decide if I calm the rest of it a bit first.
I suppose there is no harm in doing it and then seeing if its OK. Worse case it comes off while I do the oily bits then back on.
