I don't know if the term "rough idle" is confusing you Julian, it means it sounds rough rather than it'll shake the car to bits.

Yes, as a rule of thumb more cubic inches has the effect of "taming" a specific cam grind. The extra torque created by more cubic inches will also increase the stall speed of the standard torque convertor, by how much I can't say.

Recommending a cam for your application is difficult for me as I have no experience of stroker motors or really heavy cars. A hydraulic would probably get the job done as you will produce peak power at less than 6000rpm with those heads on a 512, no bad thing IMO.

Unfortunately I can't open .exe files on my Mac which is a pain. Yes, that clip you posted earlier is what a cam with a lot of overlap sounds like, it is also the unmistakable sound of Flowmaster mufflers, loud as you like! The converter needs to be matched to the cam among other things and you will...

It's very heavily rumoured that there will be a "stripper" version available before too long. Hemi and bugger all options 'cept a Dana rear end. Ford and Chevy are supposedly going to do the same and the plan is to run 'em all in a specific NHRA class. Let's hope the whole thing comes off,...
