If you paint the floor ( my recommendation) use 2 part epoxy paint, it is for industrial use and is a lot tougher than regular paint and it will fill minor imperfections.I have used carpet tiles but they move if you turn the steering and they also don't clean as easily as painted floor ( there is al...

Ok I have now sorted it, I was convinced that it needed a voltage regulator, thanks Dave for steering me away from that idea.Further investigation and it became apparent that the temp gauge casing was'nt earthed.Wonse it was earthed the temp gauge came alive,.
