its all a bit strange i guess you are dealing with some big players maybe they are willing to jump through the hoops some vendors won't sell to the UK anymore, their excuse seems to be too much paperwork or they put you off with the shipping. 30 quid shipping on a bag of clips and washers for my bro...

the lack of earth strap between motor and chassis MAY, as i have found in the past, cause any instrument that is supposed to tell you something about the engine to read wrong. most work by measuring a voltage or current and need the connection to be in place so they can establish what zero looks lik...

that old one looks like its been hacked not going to be easy but if you cable tie it up remove the wrap wash the lot in isopropyl alcohol you can probably work out what went where and replace whats been cut/bypassed however it still may not fit the car if its from a different year or trim level.
