Many thanks fellas so if i don't remove the pan completely just lower it i can get at the pump? or if i need to i'm okm chocking teh motor up on either the balancer or the mounts with a nice chocy bit of wood mmmm things are looking up just need the bloody pump to arrive now NATs with decent pressur...

Need to remove the pan off my six to change the oil pump manual paints a picture like this is a simple task to do in your sunday best before you pop off to church. jack up engine remove covers take off pan... i have appraised the situation i.e jacked it up dumped the oil smoked some fags and went ba...

Tis the best way to put a new side on a VW van maaaaasive expanse of flat metal and plenty of scope for warpage

works a treat ive been told although i think a few spot welds are used as well but only on the seams that turn inisde the van and can be welded from the inside with a spot weldy gun

Many thanks john will be in touch yes matt i don't want to strip me gear some hemi 6s used same number of teeth on the pump drive cog and the cam drive i.e they had the same number as the cam drive so the same teeth on each were in mesh all the time some were hunting tooth.i.e they had 1 more tooth ...

dash lights won't dim if somone has wired them direct they should be supplied from the headlight switch variable resitor. but the place on the switch they are supplied from also supplies the interior light the interior light is isnsulated from the inside of the car roof by a bit of cornflake packet ...

getting a new (recon one. New ones are $860!!! and have a 6 month waiting list) oil pump. it doesn't come with a gear need to take the gear off the old one and swap it across gear is matched to Cam hence the need to keep the old one now these are (i think the term is either interferance or engineeri...

no is the earth strap from engine to body good (as well as the battery to body) throttle cables sometimes snap because they end up carrying the current back to the body and hence the battery when the engine earth strap gets gnarly and too resistant obviously if the throttle cable was a fat as the ea...
