oh yes. in our lovely but mostly rainy country one must always think of the longevity of this kind of work. a spray bottle with some oil substance in it is definitely the way to go. even coconut oil is a protection against all the scheisse weather we have. or even trusty Vaseline. its good for a bab...

hi guys. I use red hermetite on my gaskets. the blue hylomar ive always found to be of no use. oil breaks it down, and red hermetite stays sticky and don't seem to break down on oil getting at it. reggie

the last pic is the lower door skin repair section. it is now had its final welding finished and ground down with a sander pad on the grinder. finally ready for the blasters, il next post some more when im prepping it ready for paint. thank you all for your interest on my work on my door reggie

now in the last pic I posted can be seen that I have now also repaired the pin holed area above the door latch, again I first made a card template of the area to be repaired. then made it in metal. before then welding and grinding the welds down. the door jamb area of the door shell is all solid now...

good on you mate, remember to keep a dolly on the lower door skin edge as you fold it over. and keep the door shell bottom and skin held together as you gradually fold the reveal over. on the arch section of the door I only used a 5m/m reveal to help fold the arched door skin edge over. then welded ...

now the inner door bottom is painted ready to offer up the lower outer door skin repair panel. note here its easier to pre drill the holes for plug welding before bending the reveal over onto the door bottom. as the angle of the door shell will prevent the use of a drill. note also the reveal is cop...
