Oh yeah sorry! Green and black are speaker wires, black is earthed to the radio chassis. " and the radio chassis is, in turn, earthed to the dash?" Sorry to be a pain in the arse - so black would therefore end up Common to all speakers ? That would mean in order to run both one dash and t...

The red is positive to the radio.
Is there an earth to the radio or is it the connection to the dash metal like everything else ?
Any news on the speaker wiring ?

All I can tell you for sure is the orange connects to the dash lights. I don't know much about these things but I didn't think it was just a case of plugging in an iPod to an old radio, will it be able to understand the signal? Watching with interest, I wanted to do something similar. Blue That'd m...

Dodge Solid State Radio

Hi all, So the next little thing on my list is to get my radio working. The dash speaker is still in-situ and looks fine. i have two rear speakers to fit below the rear window ( 200W each is slightly more powerful than factory spec' but I had them lying around from my old VW camper). Question is thi...

Loose wheels nuts maybe. Bloody hope not !!!!! Thank you Derek............lol, :) :) :) Glad you got it sorted. Derek, Yes, thanks - just didn't think it'd be as simple as that. I'd had both front wheels off a month or so ago to do the brakes and although I thought that i'd snugged em up go...

Who'd a thought it - 4 out of 5 lug nuts loose (could easily turn by hand) drivers side front !!! Sometimes the simplest answer actually is the best, there I was thinking wheel bearing; brake calipers; tie-rods etc etc ! Went to screwfix and bought a torque wrench - all done to 110ft/lbs all round. ...

Rhythmic knocking banging vibration - goes under braking

Took the Chally out to let her breathe. All was fine and then out of nowhere on what feels and sounds like drivers side, a knocking sound which just got louder and louder, like a brake pad binding and shaking with too much room. When I brake - noise subsides, but is that braking or speed related ???...

That makes sense as the blades do flex with increased power.
However, although the Chally rarely shows any signs of overheating except standing still in long bouts of traffic, would my cooling improve with either an elongated shroud or a deeper fan ?
Thanks :thumbright:

Useless fan shroud.

I was thinking I need to get a shroud because my rad' fan seems a tad exposed then I realised I have one !
Now I'm questioning why my fan sits so far back from the rad'
Any ideas

Dave, I think you may have touched on something ...... so as well as the "reach" being out, the bonnet also seems to have sunk below the bodyline of the wings.... you said "undo the rear bolts a smidge. close hood and bounce the rear corners until it rises to the correct level on the ...

So upon closer inspection it seems that I have a 3-speed motor coupled to a 2- speed switch. I think the original build would've had a 2-speed motor, hence the wiring birdnest at the bulkhead (which the previous owner then proceeded to spray all the wires black whilst painting engine compartment and...

74 Challenger Hood Hinges

Hi all, Does anyone have a pair of hood (bonnet) hinges for my 74 Chally ? Mine are a tad tired and I have to push down on the windscreen edge to get the hood pins to penetrate through. So, potentially either hinges are tired or they are not the correct ones - both issues would be sorted with a new ...

Potentially- hadn't thought of that. Thankfully have a spare switch to try.
