Re: Recommendations to strip paint on grained metal

Thanks. As it turns out the professional stripper I posted hardly touched it.... You could tell from smelling it that it wasn't the good stuff - or they shipped me a stale batch. I've not had time since then to try, so will give blowtorch a go next week sometime, good suggestion (I already tr...

Re: Matt's 1970 'Trans-Am' Challenger

Well my heart says it should be a sister car to the Cuda so a T/A replica...could always do the 76 car though? If you are set on ditching the leafs, have you considered a three link instead of the four link - I'd heard that is better for handling than the 4 link?? Tony Angelo did one on his drift Cu...

Re: Recommendations to strip paint on grained metal

Thanks yes I have plenty of cellulose thinners and it does remove the paint but not so well on the primer (I probably sprayed BondaRust). I also have plenty of the wire brushes you posted, forgot to mention that I used them but they are pretty course and may lose the grain. Yes I would eradicate all...

Recommendations to strip paint on grained metal

This is the interior header on my convertible - its a metal stamping with a grain to resemble the plastic parts. I stripped it decades ago at the sandblaster at work cos it's too big for mine, and painted it. Now it has some rust spots from being stored in the roof of my garage :x Obviously sanding ...

Re: FBHVC clarifies the introduction of E10 petrol for historic vehicle owners

Obviously the US have been dealing with this for many years (I think that you can't even get less than 10% ethanol unless you get race gas etc - could be wrong on that). One alternative would be to update the necessary parts of the fuel system...and/or figure out which if any parts are already ethan...

Re: French Racing Hemi Cuda

2 Years later and today I finally got around to watching the documentary....I guess my expectations were not particularly high, but it was REALLY well done, a proper professionally made programme. I knew the car circuit raced but really had no idea how successful it was, nor that it was part of a fa...

Re: Wheeler Dealers, '65 Coronet 500

I watched this this evening, yes no real complaints. I mean there were a couple of errors and I might have preferred a few things differently, but overall they did a good job.....and it's a TV programme about a Mopar muscle car!!!! Think of the alternatives - flippin masked singers, Ant and Dec :sho...
