The engine bay was way too small for it. We cut the bulkhead out and moved it back a long way to give...

Blimey Andy.... I remember it being originally a silver car. But yes it was painted red. You've got to make allowances for me, it was a long time ago.R.RUNNER wrote:Jim wrote:a 1968 Silver Charger R/T

Ah yes, I think you're right John. The first car I remember seeing Tony with was a 1968 Silver Charger R/T (now a regular at the Nat's painted black) and that was in the early/mid 80's. The heads are good, the '452 heads are similar to the '906's used on 68-69 and the 346's used on 70-71 383 and 440 motors, except the '452's have hardened valve seats. Yes, it will be a low compression motor, and may have a cast crank. The blocks are all good, so this could be a good basis for build...
If memory serves that was Tony O's back in the '70's, was also on the cover of a book around that time. Assume it has long since left the country, I'm sure Jim Wilson can fill in the details better than me, him being that bit older  Not that much older I reckon! Yes, that was Tony O's car back...

Cannot compare it to films such as the original Gone in 60 seconds, to name just one, in respect the driving scenes and stunts were actually performed by real drivers in real cars. As far as i am concerned. Not the crap remake. How that garbage spawned an industry creating Eleanor clones is beyond ...

I saw him a couple of times. The best was at the London Rock and Roll Show at Wembley Stadium in August 1972. This was a great show which included Bill Haley, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bo Diddely, and Chuck Berry. Chuck was on last and went over time, so some dickhead killed the power and sto...
