I only know of Paul Marston in the taining cars, because of price and the fact that the engines run very cool and therefore prevent over-heating on multiple runs.

Could be the way to go....

I think it is evolution.
As Miles said, his convertor is held on with small bolts (as are stock BB's) and that is perfectly fine for stock-ish applications.

Julie's motor is pushing about 620bhp via a 4400 Stall convertor, and this also creates a lot of heat.

I think Slick is right. On these size bolts, 22ft/lbs equates to "Finger Tight" ;)

I bet these are in the order of 75 ft/lbs - they are the same as the flex plate to crank flange bolts.
